ETOBICOKE Roy Cullen, Member of Parliament for Etobicoke North, re-introduced An Act Respecting User Fees this Fall to the House of Commons. Today, the Procedure and House Affairs Committee included Bill C-212 in its list of items that have been deemed votable. The committee on Procedure and House Affairs reviews all Private Members Bills and decides on only ten bills that are to be adopted as votable. As a result Bill 212, An Act Respecting User Fees is scheduled for three hours of debate after which it will come to a vote in the House of Commons. "While I fully support the requirement for government departments and agencies to recover costs through user fees for private goods and services, there needs to be more transparency, accountability and oversight by the House of Commons and the Parliament of Canada," Cullen said.
