A statement by Roy Cullen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness regarding the tragic loss of four RCMP officers

OTTAWA - March 4, 2005 - "It was with shock and great sadness that I learned of the tragic death of four Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers in Rochfort Bridge Alberta yesterday. These four brave officers gave their lives in the daily conduct of their duties. This tragedy reminds us of the constant risk that our police officers take in the effort to maintain order in our society, and in their quest to protect and serve. I offer my thoughts and prayers to the families and colleagues of these courageous officers."
