News Release

Roy Cullen M.P. selected to participate in two key groups.

ETOBICOKE – Roy Cullen has joined The Prime Minister’s Task Force on Canada/U.S. Relations, and the newly formed House of Commons Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates, at the invitation of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister’s Task Force on Canada/U.S. Relations is comprised of Liberal Senators and Members of Parliament who will provide advice on ways in which Parliamentarians can contribute to strengthening the dialogue between elected officials in Canada and the United States.

The Task Force will examine various topics such as:

  • advising on the creation of a research and information base on key issues;
  • analyzing Canada's trade with individual states and districts to better understand linkages and opportunities; and,
  • identifying current and future issues most likely to influence bilateral relations;

Mr. Cullen’s appointment to the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates will provide himself and other Members of Parliament an opportunity to review a variety of issues relating to the management of expenditure by federal departments, agencies and crown corporations.

"I am very excited to be named to both of these very important groups." Cullen said. "The Government Operations and Estimates Committee will examine how to improve management and effectiveness within the federal government, while the Canada/U.S. Task force offers an opportunity for Parliamentarians to improve the working relationship between our two countries."
