Home How Government Works The Municipal Government

The Municipal Government

The new municipal government will be responsible for all matters of a local nature. This includes local parks, garbage disposal and recycling programs, the TTC, sewers and sewage treatment, social services, snow removal, traffic signs and hazards on local streets. Over the next while, we may see the scope of local government change if the province continues to download certain responsibilities onto the municipalities.
